Frequently Asked Questions

  • No! A common misconception about acupuncture is that it hurts. While most people do not feel anything during an acupuncture treatment, some may experience a light sensation - but not pain or discomfort. Instead, it’s a positive response that the treatment is working and the acupuncture point is being activated.

At AcuBliss, we use an extremely light needling technique which our patients appreciate. The majority of our patients do not feel the needles being inserted and say our treatments make them feel good.

  • Each person responds to acupuncture differently. For some, relief is immediate. For others, it takes several sessions to feel significant changes.

Dr. Amorette will craft a clear treatment plan for you, detailing how many times you should visit based on your particular condition. She will also share how many sessions she believes it will take for your specific goals to be met.

  • As with any treatment, acupuncture may cause minimal side effects in some individuals. While it’s considered a safe practice, some have experienced mild bruising, soreness, or temporary sensations at the needle insertion sites.

It is important to discuss any concerns or pre-existing conditions with Dr. Amorette prior to treatment.

  • No, referrals aren’t required. AcuBliss is considered a primary healthcare provider so you are welcome to schedule an appointment with us if you would like to try our services for pain relief.

  • The health benefits of acupuncture are astonishing and widespread. One of the oldest and most commonly used healing systems in the world, acupuncture is an effective treatment for your mental wellbeing to foot pain and everything in between.

At AcuBliss, we use acupuncture as a treatment for chronic and acute pain, mental health, fertility and prenatal care, women’s health, and internal medicine among a wide variety of other health issues. Acupuncture can become even more powerful when combined with other modalities of Chinese medicine.

  • Research consistently demonstrates that acupuncture positively influences fertility and decreases time to conception. At AcuBliss, we believe healthy bodies lead to healthy babies. We focus our time on increasing blood flow to ovaries, as well as helping you to reduce stress and calm anxiety.

We can assist you with every stage of your fertility journey whether you are trying naturally or using more intensive measures like intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

As with all of our patients, Dr. Amorette will create a unique treatment plan for your unique journey.

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine has been used for centuries as a form of holistic healthcare, using plants and herbs to bring balance to the body. Herbal formulas often contain several different herbs that work together to treat a particular condition.

  • Yes. Many of our treatments are not meant to replace, but rather to be used in conjunction with, other medicine methods. It is important to consult with your primary medical practitioner before starting treatments.

  • We often ask that you take your Chinese herbs between meals so they can be properly absorbed into your body.

Don’t worry, Dr. Amorette will make sure you have detailed instructions as to when she would like for you to take your Chinese herbs.

  • Some insurance policies cover acupuncture for certain conditions. Although we do not currently accept insurance payments in our office, we can provide you with a receipt detailing the correct billing codes which will help you be reimbursed for your treatment.
